Rarescale

I've just had this email, I thought it might be of interest to some of you:
I am writing to let you know about the latest news from rarescale. 1. Concerts in London this autumn Following our very successful 5th anniversary concert in Shoreditch in September, we have four further performances in the next month: Friday 14th November 2008, 1.15pm at St Bride’s Church (www.stbrides.com), Fleet St.  Following their successful performance at the British Flute Society’s International Convention this summer, nationally based ensemble rarescale Flute Academy returns to London to perform arrangements for flutes by Beethoven, Lotti and Handel. Admission Free Sat 29 November 2008, 7.30pm at Antenna Studios, Bowyers Yard, Haynes Lane, Crystal Palace Music for alto and bass flute, guitar and electronics, including the world premiere of Stolen Branch by Graham Lynch, Apparition and Release and Rain Drive by rarescale’s composer in residence, Michael Oliva, and The Trystyng by London-based film composer Michael Csanyi-Wills. Tickets £5 at the door Monday 8th December 2008, 6.15pm. All Saint’s Arts Centre, 122 Oakleigh Road North Carla Rees and Sarah Watts perform works for alto flute and bass clarinet, including the world premiere of a new work by Tim Benjamin, and works by Kenneth Hesketh, Michael Csanyi-Wills, Daniel Kessner and David Bennett Thomas. Tickets £5 at the door Sat 13th December 2008, 7.30pm at St Leonards Church, Shoreditch rarescale performs new works for low-voiced wind trio (alto flute, bass clarinet and cor anglais) with electronics, including premieres of works by Rob Ratcliffe, Rob Fokkens, Michael Csanyi-Wills and Ed Joliffe. 2. rarescale on Raasay Bookings are now being taken for rarescale’s masterclass course for alto and bass flute, bass clarinet and electronic composition on the Scottish island of Raasay in April 2009. Full details at www.rarescale.org.uk 3. rarescale records rarescale has launched its own record label with two discs containing the music of Michael Oliva, Daniel Kessner, Karen Gourlay, David Burnand and Vasco Hexel. A further disc by David Bennett Thomas is due for release later this month. The discs are available through rarescale directly, and on itunes and Amazon.
