Flutewise: The Organisation For Flute Players Everywhere

I am looking for some flute music, where can I find it?
Try the specialist shops that you will find advertising in our Flutewise magazine. They all operate an excellent mail order service. In particular, Just Flutes produce a superb catalogue of the music they sell. All of the music listed is graded and has recommendations. You can find links to the shops who have stock flute music on our Advertiser's List

I want to come on a Flutewise course how do I book?
Most of our courses and events are for our members. Members are always sent booking forms or booking information for our events. If you are not a member join today!

What standard of player do I need to be to come on a course?
Flutewise welcomes everyone who is enthusiastic about the flute from very beginners to top professionals. You will have great fun on any course, be made to feel welcome and learn more than you could imagine!

My son wants to come on a Flutewise residential course. He is only 9.
Is it safe?

All of our staff are fully vetted. They go through the CRB check and are also approved by our trustees. We also have a "Code of behaviour" policy which all Flutewise staff adhere to. All courses are fully supervised for those under 16 and courses members and their parents are asked to sign a contract on agreed behaviour before the course starts. We always have a designated first aid person on duty and we have a confidential medical form completed for each course member before the course starts. All of our courses are insured although we do request people to have personal insurance for their instruments and belongings. Venues we use are all fully vetted to our very high standards.

Can I come on the course with my son as he is only 9?
Adults are sometimes able to attend our day courses but our Flutewise
residential courses are for people aged 8-18 only. We also run
separate adult only courses, for amateur adults, teachers and
high-flying players. We would only consider a parent accompanying a
child if there were medical reasons.

How often is the Flutewise magazine published?
Four times a year - Spring, Summer, Autumn/Fall and Winter

How do I get a Flutepal?
Write to our editor, Liz, with your details and she will put a mention in our magazine. People who would like to be your Flutepal are asked to send their first letter to you via Liz as we never give out any details about our members. Use our contact page to get in touch.

I want to join Flutewise but there are details asked for on the form that I would rather not give. Why are things like my telephone number needed?
We only ask for information that we need to help make being a member of Flutewise a good place for you and all of our members. We never, ever pass on any information about any member, eg telephone number or address, etc. to anyone else. So please fill in the form as completely as you can.
