Malcolm Arnold Sonatina
I have a pupil studying the Arnold Sonatina for an exam. Does anyone know of a recording of it for her?

James Galway recorded this on 'James Galway plays the music of Sir Malcolm Arnold'. I've got it in my itunes library but I can't see the CD anywhere - I must have it. Have you tried looking on youtube?

Looked on Youtube but there were only clarinet Sonatinas on. I think I have found a CD with the right movement of the flute one on. The Galway one is no longer available.
Thanks for your help.

Have you considered that as you are finding it difficult to find a recording (and most things are recorded and very easy to find in our digital age), this piece might not be worthy of performing? I don't actually know it, I have the score in my library, but I've never been tempted to play it. I always try and steer people who are learning to play to perform well-tested repertoire.

It's on the Trinity grade 7 list but I must admit it's not one of Arnold's best pieces.
The clarinet Sonatina is much better!
The student I have is trying several of the other works on that list as well.

Have you ever played William Mathias' Sonantina? It's a grade 7 and I love it, even if it does go ridiculously fast.
