Information for teachers
As a teacher is it worth me being a member?
Yes! We have lots of teacher members who find many of the articles and the music in the pull-out music section of the magazine very useful. You can also keep in touch with events and what the young players are up to.
Can I offer to be involved in the magazine or events?
Yes! We always welcome help from teachers. You just need to contact Liz Goodwin either by phone or email using the contact form.
Can you send me extra copies of magazines to give out to my pupils?
Sorry we can't afford to send out extra magazines due to the high cost of printing and posting. We do give out copies at events. Our new website should have enough information for everyone and encourage more people to join.
I teach a huge number of people and I'd like to get them involved with Flutewise. How can I do this?
One of the best ways is to have a Flutewise Funday. All you need to do is discuss this with Liz Goodwin, come up with a suitable venue and date and we'll do the rest. We need at least 12 people to attend an event and a venue that is either free or very inexpensive. Flutewise will manage the bookings, provide at least two members of staff and run the event on the day. If it is likely you can attract over 40 people we can run a much bigger event with a more serious workshop in the morning for Grade 6 plus, a fun workshop for everyone in the afternoon and a visiting flute shop. The events we run are suitable for all standards of flute players, from beginners to post grade 8.
You can also encourage all of the people you know to join Flutewise.
Do you offer group membership?
Yes we do. If you have 3 or more people who would like to join and you have one address to send the magazines to, then each person can join for £12. This can only be done by cheque payment and you need to contact Liz Goodwin for a form.
