Woodwind United
For the first time we are opening out fantastic course to other woodwind players! For many years we have held one of our residential courses at this brilliant venue, Abbotsholme School, Staffordshire (it is very near Alton Towers).
As usual, flute players will be well catered for and be involved in ensemble playing, performances, musical games and social activities. Flute staff will include Sandy Hay, Abbie Burrows and a group of our excellent Flutewise Apprentices. All flute players are expected to be Flutewise members.
Clarinet and saxophone players will have Ciaran O'Donnell looking after them.
Applications are welcome from double reed players and we will run this course if we have enough players applying. We are delighted to have Lesley Knowles on board who will look after our double reed players.
Each instrument group will follow their own timetable but will join together for one massed ensemble piece, some performances and social activities.
You need to be aged 8 to 18 to attend. All playing standards are accepted from beginners to post grade 8, all you need be is very enthusiastic about your instrument and music making.
The course fee covers all tuition, food and accommodation from 4.00 pm on Wednesday until Saturday.

On the last afternoon of the course family and friends are invited to a short performance of some of the work we have covered.
