An organisation for young flute players

FAQ

Question: What age and standard of playing is the afternoon event aimed at?
Answer: Most of our Flutewise events are aimed at players from the age of 8 to 18 years of age and this is no exception. All standard from beginners to post Grade 8 are encouraged to attend and will find lots of things to inspire and motivate them. It is probably wise for beginners to be able to play about an octave of notes to get the most enjoyment from the day.

Question: I'm an adult and love Flutewise and playing the flute. Can I come?
Answer: Yes! You are welcome to book a place providing you are accompanied by a young flute player (or several of them would be good). If you don't know any young flute players, please contact Liz to discuss the other possibilities.

Question: My parents want to come.
Answer: Parents and non-flute playing friends are welcome to come for only £5. Their seats will be in the gallery.

Question: Why can't my mum sit next to me?
Answer: Because we are having all the flute players sitting in the stalls so they can easily see the music and the people leading the workshops. You'll be able to meet up with your parents during the break.

Question: Can I bring my flute?
Answer: Of course! You'll have to opportunity to take part of lots of playing throughout the afternoonas well as hearing some great performances.

Question: Do I need to bring a music stand?
Answer: No, we'll be using an overhead projector.

Question: Is this event safe for children who are on their own?
Answer: It is as safe as we can possibly make it. All of the Flutewise Team and Flutewise Apprentices are CRB checked and trained in child protection issues. The staff who will be on duty from the Cadogan Hall are also CRB checked.

Question: How do I get there?
Answer:
The best way is probably public transport. Victoria Station is only a short walk away  or you could catch an underground train to Sloane Square or a bus. There is parking, but it seems to be quite expensive. You can find details on the Cadogan Hall website.

Question: What about food?!
Answer:
I'm going to check this out soon and see what the Cadogan Hall can provide for us and I'll make a list of all the suitable places in the area. Cadogan Hall do have some information on their website.
