Kristina from Croatia, Sunday and Monday
We had a good day yesterday. The weather was lovely. I said to Kristina she should sleep late on Sunday morning as we have a very busy week coming up.
I did lots of Flutewise work on Sunday morning and Kristina spent the time exploring my extensive collection of music and CDs (I think she managed to see about 10%). Then we went out for a traditional Sunday roast to Fleur's parent's pub in Hove. It was excellent and the first time Kristina had been in a pub or had a traditional roast Sunday lunch.
Then we collected Emma and drove up to Ringmer where Anne Hodgson had lots of her pupils involved in a concert at the church. I say lots, there were 19 of them, from beginners on fifes up to 18 year olds about to leave for university life. It was great, we heard some excellent flute playing (and fabulous piano playing by Anne as well!). The young people all played incredibly musically, with some stunning sounds. On the whole their pieces were all very secure and well in tune. They all performed with great confidence. It made me extremely proud to be able to show Kristina this superb example of good teaching and learning. Thanks to Anne and all her pupils.
Today I am having to work very hard on all things Flutewise (as well as all things houseworkwise). So this morning Kristina has been to Hillside School where Samantha works. Hillside is a special school for children with very severe disabilities. They were having a farm visit this morning and I think Kristina will be impressed by their wide range of facilities and the friendliness of the staff.
This afternoon she is off to work with Mark, to see what life is like in a Bingo Hall. That's different to flute playing or education! It should be interesting. Then they are going out on the town for the evening. For Kristina's sake I hope they aren't out too late because she needs to be up at 6.30 the next two mornings. I'll let you know what we do soon.

Dear Liz,
it's great to see how's Kristina and what has she been doing in Brighton. I'm so happy she's learning and experiencing so much. Thank you very much for everything.
BR, Jadranka
