Kristina from Croatia, Saturday
As promised, here's what we've been up to today.
This morning we had to go and buy some fresh bread and the newspapers and then it was off into Brighton centre to see the sights. The first place we went was Brighton Pavilion. It's a fantastic building, originally built by the Prince Regent who became King George IV. It now belongs to Brighton and Hoev City Council, it has done since Queen Victoria sold it to them because it wasn't big enough for all of her children. It's a great tourist attraction and Kristina really enjoyed it.
We then spent a bit of time in the shop looking for postcards and gifts for Kristina to take home. When we came out it started to rain (of course) but Kristina still really wanted to go onto the pier, she obviously has no fear of being blown away. It was surprisingly busy on the pier and we did see the most funny thing - well it amused me. A young woman was walking along and her friend gave her a doughnut. She was just about to take a bite and a seagull swept down and took it from her hand and flew off!
We then wandered up to Andy's shop and had a bit of a chat there. Then we came home.
Kristina is now practising. She's been using SmartMusic again and has had a go on the headjoint air director thing and discovered it's really hard. I've also got the alto and bass flutes out for her to have a go on.
I'm not sure what we'll do this evening, but I'm sure it will be fun.
More soon.
