Gareth comes to sunny Brighton

Gareth PearlIt hasn't been that sunny in Brighton recently, in fact since Andy opened his lovely new music shop in St James's Street, it has either rained, snowed or galed, we must have had only a couple of days of sunshine. But it's always sunny really in Brighton. The shop is lovely and in the type of place that people love to visit; it's very near the sea, only a few minutes walk to the pier and surrounded by lots of other lovely little interesting shops and places to eat and drink. You must come and visit.

Gareth McLearnon came down last Tuesday with his travelling stock of Pearl flutes. Pearl flutes just seem to be getting more and more popular. How many people do you know who play on one? (That gives me a good idea for a Forum topic). The entry model is lovely with the pointed key arms and a really expensive feeling looking case. I had a blow on one and I was very impressed with the sound and feel of the mechanism. Many years ago I had a Pearl flute and I liked it then, but they really have improved.

Gareth with flutesWe enjoyed coffee and lovely chocolate biscuits at the shop while we chatted and put the world to rights. Then we went off for a pizza. It was absolutely freezing walking down to Pizza Express (typical of the current weather) but it made a nice end to a very busy day.
