Flutewise Event in Gotham

Gotham4I had the most wonderful day yesterday in Gotham with some great flute players. Something I can't ever remember at a Flutewise event before was having two mums and two daughters! In the photo you can see Rebecca and mum Fiona (who helped organise the event) and Katie with mum Isabel who came all the way from Sri Lanka!

Gotham2We all really enjoyed ourselves exploring extended techniques to help us perform 'Walk Like This' by Ian Clarke. The Purple Cow also put in an appearance and everyone worked in small groups to create an interesting performance piece. One group played Hungarian Round and recited the Purple Cow poem backwards! That's a first.

The venue, St Lawrence's Church, was wonderful. Enormous thanks to the Coleman family for making the event happen. And thanks to all the flute players there for making the event so very special. I hope to see you all again soon!
