Event Excitement
I'm very excited about our event on 25 March, it's going to be great. Over the next few days I hope to start putting more information on our website about the people involved and what is going to happen in a bit more detail.
I always forget how much work is involved planning an event or producing a publication, but I always thoroughly enjoy doing despite the deadlines causing me to have to work late at night and forget to go shopping to buy food!
Four weeks ago my main job was to finalise the evening programme with Ian Clarke, Gareth Davies, Andy Findon and Mike Mower. It's a really exciting programme, very different to most concerts. Each player is performing on their own (Ian, Gareth and Mike are playing with pianist Aleks Szram and Andy is playing with percussionist Keith Fairbairn) and then they are all coming together for a final piece. You'll have to wait to know what the exact pieces are for a few days.
Then for the last 3 weeks I've been working on publicity and finishing the programme guide. The publicity side is quite tedious - organising and sending out flyers, press releases and sending emails to as many people as possible. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the programme guide - it takes me back to magazine days. It's almost finished so I'm looking forward to organising the printing.
If you are reading this and can think of any way to spread the word about our event, I'd be very grateful. If you haven't booked your tickets yet - hurry!
