BFS Convention
We had a lovely day out at the British Flute Society Convention yesterday. There were so many amazing performances. I'm hoping the girls photoed here with Eva Kingma's flutes will share their thoughts about it with us, because my arm still really hurts and it is so tiring to type. A big ahh!!!

I'm not in the above picture!! However, I attended the whole convention and found it incredibly inspiring as a new flautist. Folk were very friendly and I was able to join in with most flute choirs as there was usually a lower line I could play. My hero Greg Patillo was on top flute-boxing form. However, it was Rachel Brown's Quantz performances that particularly moved me and brought tears to my eyes. Her playing was virtuosic and her beautiful vibrant sound just filled the concert hall. Ms Brown is an incredible artist who brings those dusty manuscripts to a fully resonating life. I am now a huge fan!

My best bit at the convention was the 'evolution of the flute' by the Magnum trio.

It was a really great day, but i think the best part has to be Trevor Wye's concert! He was really funny and so was his concert - he had the entire audience in laughter with his anecdotes and acts!
